First Street Methodist Mission

 
 
 
The First Street Methodist Mission, located at 801 W. First Street, is devoted to serving and ministering to people in need by providing emergency food, clothing and infant formula in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. Volunteers are needed to prepare food bags, restock shelves, computer data entry, interview clients, and staff each of the four areas of service. Training is provided.
 
The Mission is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Sack Lunches:  Monday & Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Grocery Services:  Wednesday & Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Clothing/Hygiene Kits for the homeless:  Monday & Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Clothing for low-income families/individuals:  Wednesday & Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Infant Formula:  Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In addition, on the second Saturday of each month, volunteers prepare food bags for delivery of groceries to the elderly and disabled community residing at Hunter Plaza.
 
Mission Donations –The First Street Methodist Mission is open to take donations Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and by appointment. If you would like to bring donations, please come to the Henderson Street entrance (where the double doors face Henderson Street and the Mission parking lot.) Simply ring the bell and we will gladly assist you.
